Privacy policy
What we collect, why, and who it is shared with.
This page was drafted from the policies Tannic Labs already had in its FAQ. It is a reasonable starting point, not legal advice, and it has not been reviewed by counsel. Have a lawyer check it before you rely on it — particularly the liability and governing-law sections.
What we collect
We collect only what is needed to process and ship an order:
- Name and contact details
- Shipping and billing address
- Email address
- Institution or organisation, where you give it
- Confirmation that payment succeeded
- Order history associated with your account, if you create one
If you contact us or request a certificate, we keep that correspondence so we can answer follow-up questions.
What we do not collect
We never see or store your card number. Payment details are entered directly with our payment processor and are not transmitted to or stored on this site. We receive only confirmation that a payment succeeded.
Who it is shared with
We do not sell customer data. It is shared only with:
- Our payment processor, to take payment
- Our shipping carrier, to deliver your order
- Our hosting and email providers, as part of running the site
- Law enforcement or regulators, where we are legally required to
Packaging carries no reference to the contents, and no third party receives product-level detail beyond what is needed to ship the parcel.
Cookies and analytics
The site uses cookies necessary for the shop to function — keeping your cart and your login session. It may also use analytics cookies to understand aggregate traffic. You can block cookies in your browser, though the cart and checkout will not work without the necessary ones.
How long we keep it
Order records are retained as long as we are required to for tax and accounting purposes. Correspondence is retained while it remains useful for supporting you. Account data is retained until you ask us to delete it.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Deletion requests are honoured except where we are legally required to retain records, such as completed order and tax records. Email tannicinc@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days.
Security
The site is served over TLS. Access to order data is limited to people who need it to fulfil orders. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of data transmitted over the internet.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of it.
